Learn more about the latest Pritikin ICR research from two leading researchers:  David C. Beckner, MD, and Joseph W. Beals, PhD.During MedAxiom's 2023 Fall Transforum, Pritikin sponsored an Educational Spotlight Lunch to highlight the aims, methods, and outcomes of recent Pritikin research, as presented by David C. Beckner, MD, and Joseph W. Beals, PhD.

Dr. Beckner and his colleagues conducted a short-term, randomized, controlled trial to evaluate the feasibility and clinical efficacy of treatment with the Pritikin program in an outpatient worksite setting, while Beals and his research collaborators focused on determining whether regular exercise has additional therapeutic effects for people with obesity and prediabetes participating in a dietary weight loss program.  Though the participants and study designs varied, both studies clearly demonstrated the clinical effectiveness of the Pritikin program.
