Pritikin ICR and Locus Health Announce Strategic Partnership
Clayton, MO and Charlottesville, VA — October 26, 2020 — Pritikin ICR, the market leader in Intensive Cardiac Rehab (ICR), and Locus Health, the leader in remote care management software solutions, today announced a strategic partnership to provide a customized software platform to virtually support ICR and traditional cardiac rehab (CR) patients. This home-based modality provides an opportunity to increase cardiac rehab participation rates, enhance patient engagement, improve rehab graduation rates, and minimize the need for in-person facility visits, during the Covid-19 crisis and beyond.
Pritikin is making its comprehensive cardiac rehab patient education and support tools available virtually through the Locus platform. This SaaS-based, HIPAA-compliant remote care solution, is currently in use at health systems throughout the U.S. and Canada. The intuitive Locus app enables cardiac rehab patients and their caregivers to access the Pritikin ICR program conveniently at home on their own desktop or mobile device, or by utilizing a fully-integrated iPad supported by Locus.
The partnership between Pritikin and Locus is well-positioned to help cardiac rehab programs extend their crucial care services to a patient population that might not otherwise receive the lifelong benefits of cardiac rehab. Simultaneously, the partnership helps support a key aim of the Million Hearts initiative: to significantly increase cardiac rehab participation rates nationwide.
“We are excited to be building the most configurable, IT secure, and patient- and provider-friendly solution in the CR market,” said Terry Rogers, Pritikin ICR President. “Locus has consistently demonstrated that they are market-tested, flexible, and responsive to the needs of their customers across healthcare systems, hospital, and physician-based practices. As Pritikin ICR continues its rapid expansion, we’re thrilled to be offering this truly unique cardiac rehab solution in conjunction with Locus.”
“The Pritikin ICR team is the clear leader in this exciting market, and we are pleased to be collaborating to serve these important programs and their patients,” said Kirby Farrell, Locus CEO. “Our platform supports a wide range of cardiology and other key populations, and we look forward to further helping Pritikin ICR programs expand their home-based solutions at scale.”
